1. Health & Safety Managers Working Party
The group, which includes H&S managers (or their equivalents) from all shareholding councils, identifies areas where health and safety policies, procedures, or guidelines need development and makes recommendations to the Co-Lab Board.
1. RATA Advisory Group
This group, made up of Chief Executives and General Managers from shareholding councils and NZTA/Waka Kotahi, aims to promote consistency and best practice in roading asset management and related activities to improve community wellbeing.
2. Health & Safety Governance Group
The group includes four representatives from the H&S Managers Group along with representatives from SHE Software NZ LTD. Together, they work to establish consistent messaging for councils, review pre-qualification questionnaires, and consider changes to the evaluation process.
2. Waikato Building Consent Advisory Group
Comprising representatives from eight of the shareholding councils, they foster co-operation and consistency in building control functions, processes, and documentation, to provide excellent and consistent customer service across the Waikato region.
3. People & Capability Managers Working Party
Comprising representatives from all shareholding councils, this group identifies and implements council people-related projects (HR) which benefit all councils.
3. Insurance Advisory Group
Representatives from all shareholding councils work together to manage the collective procurement of insurance, aiming to achieve the best value for money, and also oversee the performance of the insurance broker’s contract.
4. Procurement Managers’ Working Party
The working party, made up of Procurement Managers from all our shareholding councils, meets to identify and advance procurement and reform initiatives. Currently chaired by Waikato District, it provides a forum for sharing ideas, promoting consistency in procurement across the region, and enhancing value for money outcomes for councils.
4. Geospatial Services Advisory Group
This group provides strategic oversight of Waikato Data Portal and Waikato OneView, two public platforms through which councils share their data. They are working to ensure people trust regional geospatial knowledge to make better decisions.
5. Shared Services Working Party
Comprising the GM Corporate (or equivalent) representatives from all shareholding councils, this group drives regional collaboration by generating ideas, gauging councils’ willingness to advance specific initiatives, and championing the work delivered by Co-Lab on approved projects.
6. Comms & Engagement Working Group
Made up of communications & engagement leads from shareholding councils, the group’s purpose is to identify and progress regional communications & engagement collaboration opportunities.
7. Waikato Resource Consent Forum
Comprising representatives from eight of the shareholding councils, they foster co-operation and consistency in building control functions, processes, and documentation, to provide excellent and consistent customer service across the Waikato region.
